A reader adds the following:
This has to be one of the most dangerous scenarios possible. The way the person is gagged and forced to drink water as in the picture would kill him.

The water level is inline with the head and once syphonic action started by drinking, it would never stop, no matter what.
The water would always be kept at the high level via the ballcock and I assure you, even if you tried to drink a 1000 litres, it will still be coming.
